Mathias Gotsmy from the research group of Prof. Jürgen Zanghellini won the Best Student Oral Presentation Award at the 9th Metabolic Pathway Analysis (MPA) in South Korea.
Mathias Gotsmy is a PhD candidate in the research group Biochemical Network Analysis at the Department of Analytical Chemistry.
At the international conference in Seoul, he won the Best Student Oral Presentation Award by presenting the increase in plasmid DNA yield by+30% through sulfate limitation in an industrial production process. His recent publication "Sulfate limitation increases specific plasmid DNA yield in E. coli fed-batch processes" was created in collaboration with enGenes Biotech and TakedaPharma. Congratulations to Mathias Gotsmy for his outstanding achievement and well-deserved recognition.
MPA 2023 (24 - 27 July) was the ninth biennial event uniting international experts in biology, computer science, engineering, and mathematics for four days of discussions on network analysis advancements. Mark your calendar: The 10th Metabolic Pathway Analysis Conference will take place in mid-July 2025 in Vienna.
